Ultimate List of BMX Tracks Melbourne

by BD Banks

Has your family honed their cycling skills in the past year? If you’re looking for BMX tracks near you in Melbourne, I’ve got you covered!

Some BMX tracks are used and maintained by clubs (but available for public use outside club hours), while some BMX tracks are community or council built for BMX riding. I’ve listed both types of BMX tracks here.

To make it easy to find your perfect spot, I’ve compiled a list of the BMX tracks, including pump tracks, and what else you can expect to find at each site in terms of facilities. Head out and discover how this kid-friendly sport can be so much fun.

What is a pump track?

In the sport of BMX, a pump track is  a continuous track that is designed to be ridden by pumping your body up and down, rather than peddling. The track includes dirt mounds and banked turns. If you’re looking specifically for a pump track in Melbourne then I’ve indicated where its a pump track.

Do you want to try out BMX Racing or join a club?

If you’re looking for a BMX Club Melbourne you can register for a Free trial AusCycling membership.

Or you can register your membership with AusCycling, which allows you to compete, provides you with insurance and allows other benefits such as being able to join a club.

During your first visit to a BMX Club, they’ll check that you are wearing long sleeves / pants, appropriate footwear, gloves and helmet, and that your bike is safe.  This is important for all riders interested in the sport of BMX.

The BMX Clubs mentioned are all family-friendly and cater to a wide age range, from approximately 4yo upwards.
